Security

Are you afraid...Should you be?

Talking to developers about security is sort of like talking about dental floss. We all know that it is important and something we should do, but how many people really take the time to make it a habit? What is it they say, everyone has habits, you might as well have some good ones?

My team at Microsoft is committed to this issue for a number of reasons, the biggest one being that it is simply the right thing to do. Joe Stagner's Black Belt Security series of webcasts begins this month, and from what I've seen it really hits the mark. You should check it out.

On the same topic, I will be doing a Security Best Practice webcast later this morning. We will be talking about threat modeling, threat mitigation, and ideas for improving the security of your application. It is scheduled for 90 minutes, and we've got a lot to cover.
