How to WinForms & Influence Users...
We just finished up putting the pieces together for our next set of content - Windows Forms Bonanza - and it is looking to be a really cool session. We do some custom UI on a WinForms application with our own distinctive look & feel, and then we add stuff to it. First custom shaped buttons, add drag & drop for changing the "skin", media player, some custom controls, and then we top it off binding data from a handy web service.
The result is a great looking application that is the result of a lot of people working really hard. I appreciate the efforts and I'd like to give credit where due: Bill, Glen, Rory, David, Paul, Pat, Amy, feedback from those who saw the webcast...
The neat thing about what we did, is that we are taking a holistic approach to the seminar and carrying through an idea to each of the various portions, and addressing different audiences interests. We start with coding something new, then we use that application in the second part where we demonstrate debugging & tracing. Finally we show off the new VS Team Systems product and import the projects from the first part.
