Blogging is supposedly a good practice, in that we can share what we're thinking. This week I'm in Florida to deliver some seminars in Gainesville and Tampa. The trip down last night had a typical delay in Atlanta, but we made it and so here I am. So what do I have to share this week?
I've got Info Path, a great product if you're looking to capture user input into a data store and don't want the overhead or hassle of creating a custom app for it. Basically serving as a replacement for Access, this new product has a lot of potential for making it easier for enterprise architects to dictate how information should and can be collected, what business rules to apply, etc. Very cool stuff, worth looking at.
Next we demo some ASP.NET control code. How to create a custom control, why you want to do it, and then some advanced topics surrounding it. All in all the feedback has been pretty good about the value of this to the typical attendee.
Finally we show off some ASP.NET 2.0 stuff (AKA Whidbey Web Development). Some of the highlites include how you don't need IIS or Active Server Extensions, new Data Controls, and finally some Master Page stuff that encourages sound web site design. My question is whether I want to wait for the new technologies or to implement them now. I know that beta is time to wait, but they have so much to offer...
In any case, come on out and check out our new event series. You're sure to see somethign new and to have the opportunity to ask questions. Until then,
Enjoy!
